I tweeted about this video after I happened across it earlier to day. It’s deeply shocking.
For me the most heartbreaking moment was when the little black girl is asked “Which doll is like you?” She’s already identified the white doll as being the ‘nice’ one and the ‘pretty’ one. Her hand goes and hovers over the white doll and then, with a look of resignation that little people that young shouldn’t ever have to feel, goes to the black one. Cue tears…
Is it any different here in the UK? I hope so but I do wonder…
Karen was shocked by it too and many people tweeted the same stunned sentence in response to me: “that was scary”.
